TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/05/12
DATE: Wednesday, May 27, 2026
The season is officially over, and we miss it already! Family Day was WONDERFUL! Theater (and music students), we were so happy to watch all of your hard work come together during your presentations! You all blew us away! Thank you to you all for helping everyone experience a season of peace, joy, patience, grace, and community. We could not have done it without you… each student, each parent, each volunteer, each guide, and each coach doing your part…and sometimes more. It was such an honor meeting you and spending time with you every Tuesday. We hope you all have a wonderful summer with family and friends and look forward to another year of wonder in 2026-2027! And again, a special thanks to Shemayah for stepping in as coordinator for all the spring events.
Congratulations to the Red Foxes! Dane Allison, Alaiya Andrews, Laura Blanchard, Ava Byrnes, August Cornwell, Joseph Davenport, Chavah Dean, Cassidy Fundenberger, James Henson, Jonah Hzikiase, Everett LaPierre, Devon Liedle, Bane Lucero, Micah Mason, Tess McHugh, Arthur McNeil, Evelyn Newsham, Aspen Perret-Gentil, Max Piche, Benedict Polsky, Bella Russo, Boaz Russo, Ashiyra Scott, Adalynn Seabeck, Anneliese Stanczyk, Isaac Winterburn, and you earned Wonder’s annual Team of the Year award through your hard work each week this year. In addition to ongoing recognition of being the 2026 Team of the Year, your team color will be permanently marked on the Wonder Rainstick for a memorial for all future years.
Also, multiple students asked what the total points were for the year so here you go: Red Foxes had 29,995 points, Orange Tigers had 22,606, Yellow Eagles had 26,857, Green Geckos had 15,702, Blue Dolphins had 13,091, and Purple Panthers had 7,720 points. Great job, everyone! We’re so proud of the good character you exemplified, your scripture memory work, your creativity, and all of your effort this year.
Also, we forgot to acknowledge the students who earned a leadership award. You all received a printed award in your yearbooks, but we wanted to honor everyone at this time. We appreciate your example of leadership this year!
Lastly, if you captured any video or photos from the Family Day Concert please add them to the album [LINK].
Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!
HIGHLIGHTS
- Scripture of the Month: Psalms 136:1 – Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. – Psalms 136:1 New King James Version (NKJV)
- Special Notes: In lieu of our regular class notes, in this memo are short notes from each of your guides and coaches for ALL classes. Don’t miss reading them.
- Scott Family Update: The Scott family had an expected local move starting in April (right in the middle of all the unexpected dress rehearsal and concert schedule/facilities rearranging) and will still be moving through the beginning of June. All these challenges have caused additional delays in this memo being published, the concert video being published, and enrollment with the new system being ready to take registration for next year. Once the move is complete and the CHEC conference has passed, progress can be made on necessary tasks during the remaining days in June. They are all set with help on both sides of the move and Wonder admin tasks but just need the time to get caught up. Therefore, the Scotts will be on break until about June 23th and will reply to any questions or emails upon return (excluding fair related inquires or urgent needs). We will let you know if there are any further delays. We appreciate your patience and prayers.
- Homeschool Days Fair (June 2): Please plan to attend this event and support the young homeschool entrepreneurs and WHS students who organized this opportunity. It would mean a lot to see you!
- Yearbooks, Lost & Found, Art Project Pickup (Tuesday June 2): If you need to pick up your yearbook (or want to get them signed), lost & found items (unless the church cleared them will be at the church), or art projects, we’ll also be at CCPC from 10-1 on June 2 during the Colorado Homeschool Days Fair. You can come by during that time.
- Return Music: If you were unable to return your sheet music/performance books (return concert books; keep method books unless there were borrowed) during Family Day, please plan to return them during the Fair. If you are planning to return next year and will not attend the Fair, please plan to return them during Orientation. And, if you are not returning next year, please let us know so we can coordinate another option. Thank you for your help with this.
- Year of Wonder Event Video: You will soon be able to view this season’s Year of Wonder Spring Concert video! We will update this memo by the end of June with an active link. Please watch to the end so you don’t miss the fun surprise post-credit clip. [LINK]
- 2026-2027 Enrollment (By June 30th): Enrollment for the 2026-2027 season will open soon for returning families! You will receive an invitation to return to Wonder as soon as possible. Once received, please review enrollment details from the link in the email and be sure to complete your Wonder Homeschool Day Family Enrollment Application as soon as possible to reserve your spot. Enrollment is scheduled to open to NEW families by the beginning of July, so we suggest registering prior to then before classes fill up. Tuition (or initial payment) & Material Fees are not due until Family Orientation in September, however classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Open House, Instrument Fair, and Placement Audition information is also included. Please feel free to comment on this memo with any questions.
- Final Payment: For those who opted for the monthly recurring payment option or have a balance, please look for an email with your remaining balance.
- Parent Survey: As we plan for the upcoming year, we’d greatly appreciate your feedback for consideration to help us improve Wonder programs. Please complete a Parent Survey before the end of May (see link below).
- Summer Practice Required: Returning students in band, orchestra, bucketline, drumline, recorder, choir, and asl signing choir create a regular practice schedule that helps you review and learn more music throughout the summer.
- Private Lessons: Although private lessons are not required for all students, we highly suggest scheduling several during the summer to maintain, improve, and prevent any loss of proper technique and skill level. To coordinate a lesson time, please select ‘Private Lessons’ on the Wonder Contact Page and complete one form for each student OR contact your preferred Private Studio directly. A coach will contact you directly to schedule a lesson and arrange payment.
- ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOMESCHOOL CONFERENCE (RMHC)
Wonder will have a booth at this year’s RMHC. If you’re attending the conference, please stop by and say hello! We also need volunteers to assist in the booth. If you’re interested in volunteering, please comment on this memo with your dates and times of availability. Volunteers do need to register for the event independently, as we have limited tickets with this new location. We will let you know if and when you are needed based on your submitted availability.

WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/05/05
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/05/04
DATE: Wednesday, May 6, 2026
1 last class of the season on Family Day! PLEASE CHECK YOUR ARRIVAL TIME AND ARRIVE ON TIME!
What an exceptional Year of Wonder event! You all played wonderfully! Do you remember how challenging the music was during the first days of rehearsal? Now, you’ve not only learned the music but also learned how to play better together as an ensemble. Congratulations to all the first-timers who performed with confidence and focus. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we did listening to you share music together. And, thank you to all our art students who submitted a piece in the art display. We were impressed with the technique and creativity showcased, as well as the collaboration piece, which was the perfect backdrop to the evenings photos!
We ended 2 minutes early! Can you believe it? With the last-minute rearranging of the schedule and with a condensed tech rehearsal, we still managed to cross the finish line in record time! Special thanks to Miss Shemayah, Miss Patty, Miss Menorah, the volunteers, parents, and students who stepped up to fill the gaps when needed throughout the year, in and out of class, and during Tuesday’s event. We’ll miss our seniors (many of them are OG Wonder students from our first year and before (Nolens and Perzenskis)) and hope you’ll join us as a mentor next year and/or come visit us when you’re a grown up. And, finally to any families who will be moving out of state this year, we pray you are blessed wherever you go. We’ll miss you!
Next week is the last day and will look much differently than our regular class schedule, so let’s make sure we continue following the expectations set forth in the Wonder Way which express the importance of walking in good character, being thoughtful and attentive, and honoring others in the class and during a performance. It’s something we’ve spoken about throughout the year, but please take this time to reiterate and remind your child of proper performance/event etiquette. Yesterday’s event was great practice to model this. Thank you for guiding your children in good character and consideration of others.
Lastly, if anyone captured some of the music from before the concert (something you rushed to pull your phone out to record…like Ezrah and the other baby talking during the concert), plus any other video or photos, please let us know and add them to the [LINK].
Please be sure to read this memo so we can all be prepared for the next final weeks. Please be on-time and let us know if you have any questions as soon as possible so we can clarify for everyone. And, please remember to add your photos from the year to the album at the bottom of this memo. Thank you!
- Family Day (NEXT WEEK): We finally received an update! Please view the event memo for details and arrive promptly. [EVENT MEMO LINK]
- Mini Concert will be at 10am
- Performers wear Wonder Black (Wonder Tee & Black bottoms)
- Everyone else wear Wonder Tees.
- All shorts and skirts knee-length or longer for all who choose to wear them, please.
- Leggings may NOT be worn by themselves. A skirt or dress must be worn over leggings.
- Standard dress standards.
- Facilities Conflict Update:
- May 12 (In progress): We are not able to use the sanctuary tomorrow or the GYM in the morning, so we will host the Family Day Concert in the Bowl (outside lawn). We ask everyone who is able to bring lawn chairs for our guests (and yourselves if you prefer not to sit on the grass). We will offer guests the stadium seats first. Let’s pray for warm weather and dry grounds. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
- Percussion Students: Please note your arrival time is not the same as band. You need to arrive earlier to help setup all percussion needs.
- Instrument Rental from Flesher Hinton and Music @ Parker Road:
- Playing the same instrument next year? No further action required. Students who intend to play the same instrument are required to practice during summer break. We suggest keeping your instrument rental active and pursuing summer private lessons with one of our coaches. It’s very easy, especially for beginner instrument players, to lose proper technique and form without practicing on a regular basis.
- Changing instruments next year? If you plan to change instruments next year, you can leave your rental instrument with the vendor representative when at Wonder next week. However, you MUST CONTACT the rental company FIRST. Please include a copy of your rental information (account first and last name, shop name) in the instrument case. Students who choose a NEW different instrument will begin in Prelude Band/Orchestra or will need to complete a placement audition during the summer (or at the beginning of next season) to place in an upper-level ensemble. Dates will be posted as soon as possible. Keep in mind, students now require a coach recommendation before consideration in upper ensembles.
- Return Music (NEXT WEEK): Please be sure your child brings their Practice Records and ALL of their music next week, as some will need to be returned.
- Year of Wonder Video: We have a video recording of last night’s event and will plan to get a downloadable link to you within several weeks.
- Clothing Drive: Wonder Honor Societ, Yrushalayim Leake, is organizing a Clothing Drive for Golden Pantry and Thrift. Golden Pantry and Thrift is a local organization that provides healthy food via their pantry and affordable clothing via their thrift store. They also provide rent and utilities assistance to keep families homed and stable during difficult times. Thses clothes items will help them with their mission. The total goals Yrushalayim is working to collect are as follows, and she asks that you contribute towards any of these items:
- Pickup Date: May 12 and June 2
- Goal: 100 clothing items
- Please donate the following items:
- T-shirts
- Skirts or dresses
- Pants
- Shorts
- Pajamas
- Stuffed toys
- 2026 Colorado Homeschool Days Fair Youth Marketplace: WHS students have been hard at work planning this year’s fair. Please support them by registering your child as a Youth Exhibitor and registering to attend the event linked below.

DATE: Wednesday, April 29, 2026
Apologies for sending this memo so late in the day. We just finished the schedule for next week. Thank you for your understanding and prayers!
0 more classes until the Year of Wonder: Spring Concert and Art Display & 1 last week on Family Day!
Thank you all for your patience and hard work. We stayed on time for most of the rehearsal! A big thank you to Miss Shemayah, Miss Patty, and Miss Menorah for helping run the rehearsals! We didn’t get to take photos, so we’ll do all of them next week! Theater rehearsal also went so well, and we’re excited to see your monologues on Family Day (May 12)! Even though it was a long and busy day, it ended wonderfully, seeing you all in character! A big thanks to everyone (especially Miss Samantha and Miss Tara) for helping with facilitating the rehearsal, as well as setup and breakdown. What a day!
We’d appreciate everyone stepping up and sharing online (homeschool groups), especially about Family Day and Homeschool Days Fair. The links are below under the Action Items section. Thank you!
Please be sure to read this memo so we can all be prepared for the next final weeks. Please be on-time and let us know if you have any questions as soon as possible so we can clarify for everyone. HIGHLIGHTS
- Scripture of the Month: Psalms 136:1 – Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. – Psalms 136:1 New King James Version (NKJV)
- No Regular Class (May 5) (NEXT WEEK): No classes on Tuesday, May 5. ONLY the Year of Wonder afternoon tech rehearsal and evening event.
- Year of Wonder (May 5) (NEXT WEEK): Please view the event memo for details and arrive promptly. [LINK]
- Facilities Conflict Update:
- May 5 (Updated): We can still use the sanctuary for the main concert (May 5, 6PM), but the tech rehearsal and call-times are modified to a very tight schedule. The art instillation will remain the same. Please make sure your child is dressed and has food with them when they arrive. Also, as a reminder from the HH Guide, if you are a Class Helper for an ensemble of art class, please plan to arrive during the arrival time of the students of that ensemble or during the art installation, respectively.
- May 12 (In progress): We are still working through our options for Family Day. The day is still open for registration, and we don’t expect changes to Theater Monologues, but the rest of the day may need to be moved around. At this point, we will keep to our original schedule. Performance groups, please plan to attend from 9am-2pm (expect for drumline, buckets, flags, and percussion students, who arrive at 8:30am to set up for the mini concert). Non-performance groups can plan to attend the day with the alternative schedule (arriving at 10am to watch the concert). For those who have never attended, Family Day offers an alternative schedule of classes until 5pm, including a showing of the theater monologues, so you should plan to stay as late as 5pm to show your support or until your usual last class. We’ll send out a tentative memo next Thursday, at the latest. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
- Attire Questions: We had a few new questions about attire:
- Sparkles are NOT permitted.
- Dark brown soles on male dress shoes are permitted, as they are often standard with this type of shoe.
- Leggings may NOT be worn by themselves. A skirt or dress must be worn over leggings.
- Percussion Students: Please note your arrival time is not the same as band. You need to arrive earlier to help setup all percussion needs.
- Needle Punch: If your child took their kit home to complete a project, please make sure they bring it to the concert WITH their hoop, and if they left their hoop at home, please bring it.
- Theater: We do not have another rehearsal before our Family Day performance (4pm). Please help your child continue to practice their lines or improve ideas at home. We are especially emphasizing practicing projection, articulation, movement, and use of dynamics. Thank you for your continued at-home support of theater!
- 2026 Colorado Homeschool Days Fair Youth Marketplace: WHS students have been hard at work planning this year’s fair. Please support them by registering your child as a Youth Exhibitor and registering to attend the event linked below.

WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/04/21
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/04/21
DATE: Wednesday, April 22, 2026
Class photos are done (it’s actually getting easier every year), and there is 1 more class until the Year of Wonder: Spring Concert and Art Display and 2 more wonder weeks until Family Day!
Firstly, thank you to Prelude Band and Orchestra for sharing music with us during assembly! It was wonderful to hear you play. It’s been amazing to witness your journey, some of you starting with no experience on your instruments to now becoming the musicians you are today! May you continue to use your talents for His glory
Facilities Conflict: We were just informed that CCPC is completing a major construction project that is behind schedule, and it has caused unexpected conflicts with sanctuary usage during the month of May. We are very surprised by this news, as all of our dates are submitted during the summer for the entire year. Nevertheless, we’re thankful to still have a space to use. Here is what we know at this time:
- April 28 (Updated): Next week’s dress rehearsal will be conducted in the GYM. This change will not affect any ensembles (except Flags and Quesos Unlimited — the memo has been updated and we have shared the details directly with those families).
- May 5 (In progress): We can still use the sanctuary for the main concert (May 5, 6PM), but the tech rehearsal and call-times will need to be modified. The art instillation will remain the same.
- May 12 (In progress): We are working through what this means for Family Day. The day is still open for registration, and we don’t expect changes to Theater Monologues, but the rest of the day may need to be moved around. We suggest all ensembles plan to attend from 9:30am to 2pm, as the Family Day concert time may need to be moved.
- Updates: An additional challenge…The Scotts will be out of town over the next few days, so they will do their best to make the updates once they return. Updates will be prioritized by order of event date, so the Family Day schedule will be completed last. We ask for your patience and that you wait for the modified schedules as we work through our options.
Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!

If anyone is connected with a community you’d like us to visit, please let us know so we can get started on the planning. Before determining a date we need input from you with your availability (vocal choirs, band, orchestra).
- Dress Rehearsal Attire Requirements: Please make sure your child is dressed in Concert Black (Music Makers in Wonder Black with black bottoms and their Wonder tee) upon arrival. This means all black with no white in shoes, socks, or embroidery on attire. For girls who are wearing a dress or skirt, be sure it is at knee-length or longer. We will be taking photos for the yearbook, and students who are not properly dressed will not be included in the photos for the yearbook.
IMPORTANT REMINDER!
CLASS NOTES: Please be sure your child is following the listed notes for each week and practicing or completing assignments accordingly.
ENSEMBLES: Parents, if your child is in a performance ensemble, please be sure your child is practicing diligently and is on-time and present over the next 3 weeks of classes. We will be completing projects and conducting multiple class rehearsals (this should not affect your check-in and check-out times). It is very challenging to properly prepare as a team if players are not in attendance. We cannot control absence for illness, but for other reasons we need everyone in class. Thank you for your understanding and effort! Over the final several weeks, different classes will come together to rehearse together throughout the day.
PHOTOGRAPHY: Please make sure your child uploads their photography images, with properly listed names (according to what is detailed in the class notes), before next week’s class. If they have not completed their collaborative project, they should plan to complete it during the next class.
ARRIVE ON-TIME: Please make sure your child arrives on-time each week. Students should arrive in enough time to unpack their items, get out their supplies, and tune their instruments (if applicable) BEFORE class start-time. If they are walking in at class start-time they are late. Since we only meet once a week, it’s imperative we accomplish our daily goals within the designated time-frame. Thank you!

MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/03/31
DATE: Wednesday, April 1, 2026
3 more classes until the Year of Wonder: Spring Concert and Art Display and 4 more wonder weeks until Family Day!
Firstly, thank you to everyone for representing Wonder so well this week as guests of Fellowship Community Church. We are full of gratitude for their generousity and hospitality. We would like to give an offering to the church for allowing the use of the building. If you are able to donate $10 for your family, we can add it to the donation after break. You can do so at generously.me/wonder and select the “Appreciation Gift” designation.
Secondly, thank you to our Dance and Concert Orchestra students for sharing music with us during Assembly! Despite the confusion with the music and your first time playing together, you all displayed remarkable professionalism! Well done!
And, we hope to see many of you at Homeschool Day at the Capitol next week. Performers should be there at 7:30am in their concert black, but others can come as early as 8am to watch and enjoy the rest of the day’s events. Wear your Wonder tees (performers bring them to change into after the performance)!
Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!

- Summer Rockies Game Opportunity Reminder (Deadline April 3): If you are a Wonder band and orchestral students interested in joining Miss Nicole Rafferty’s music studio to perform the National Anthem at the Colorado Rockies Game on July 21st at 6:40pm at Coors Field, please reach out to Miss Nicole Rafferty (nicolerafferty@a-musician-is.com) by Friday so she can compile a roster for the performance. Keep in mind, we may not include all band instruments if the balance of the ensemble isn’t ideal.
- Group Class Photos Reminder (April 14): Group class pictures for the yearbook are scheduled for April 14 during the class day. All ensembles and enrichment classes will take a picture together so we ask you to arrive 15 minutes earlier than your regular check-in time and plan to stay about 15 minutes later so we can bookend the photo time. For example, we’ll take the band photo between Block 2 and Block 3 so both Prelude, Training, and Midpoint Band can take the picture together. This will also minimize class disruptions. Students, staff, and Helping Hands should be in their Wonder Tees.
- Homeschool Spirit Day: (Funky Socks Day) – Kick off those plain black or white socks and put on something with a little more spunk! Always keep in mind The Wonder Way and refrain from inappropriate attire, such as anything that may resemble cross-dressing. Let’s have fun! – This is not the dress rehearsal day…its the week before.
PARENT REMINDER (PRACTICE DURING BREAK)
If your student is in an ensemble (Bands, Orchestras, Drumline, Flags, Recorder, Choirs, Dance) or Theater, please remember the following:
- Be sure to remind your child to practice the REQUIRED amount for the week DURING BREAK (noted in the Class Notes, linked below). The guides and coaches post what students need to practice for the week.
- Instruments: Practicing during breaks is especially important for new musicians because it takes time and consistency to make the skills taught become more natural and dependable. Extended breaks are not helpful for individual progression or the group.
- Resources: Please be sure your child has access to the sound files, video files, and/or script for practicing/memorizing their lines and characters so they can practice their parts as needed.
- No Instrument?: If you are out of town and unable to bring your instrument, you can practice everything without an instrument by mime playing (which still helps develop muscle memory and skills). It is better to practice with the resources you have rather than not practicing at all. You can also listen to your pieces and practice rhythms and reading skills.

Important Note for all Performance Groups, especially Prelude Band and Orchestra Participation
The extent of an individual’s participation is solely in control of the student and parent. Students who have been diligent about practicing will more likely learn and master the necessary skills, while those who have not made it a priority may struggle to do both.
The amount of practice time is not the only factor we use to determine if a student will participate in group performance, but it is a major one, along with attendance. It is neither fair to the individual or the group to allow a student to participate if they do not know how to play the music well due to a lack of practice at home.
We desire to give students as much time as possible in order to be successful. If a student is putting in the effort but struggling, we will do our best to make accommodations for the student. That is not the same for someone who is struggling but is not putting in the time to improve.
For struggling students who receive an email or verbal notice for private lessons, final decision for performance participation will be made on April 28.
Parents, please be sure your child is ON-TIME AND PRESENT DURING REHEARSALS and PRACTICING AT HOME diligently over the last several weeks. Thank you for your cooperation!

LOOKING AHEAD
As a privately funded, faith-based nonprofit ministry dedicated to providing an affordable and high-quality program to families and the community, we’ve made every effort to ensure we’re able to offer our programs at a reduced rate for all families and provide additional need-based scholarships.
We’ve always been vocal about our concerns with state funding (primarily because it legally requires program leaders to agree to prohibit/limit religious activity and discipleship or sectarian education, but also for economic and legal reasons).
Although we’ve never provided explicitly religious instruction as a class (we believe the Scriptures place the responsibility of doctrinal instruction on parents), we’ve always incorporated prayer, discipleship, and Scriptural principles and concepts into our programs. Therefore, we cannot, in good conscience, accept state funding by voluntarily waiving the right for us to freely speak and worship our Holy God and muzzle our witness and belief in the Son of God. We cannot compartmentalize our faith during certain times of the day.
However, we understand, firsthand, the challenges with living in a one-income household, home-educating, and walking out our faith daily in a world that is increasingly hostile to the ways of our God. We know religious education is the most important education one can receive, even beyond academics. And what we offer at Wonder is intended to help us learn to glorify God in every creative endeavor or mundane work.
We started Wonder with the intention of doing so with what we could on our own, establishing a solid foundational structure for the ministry, and then slowly working and growing towards our ultimate vision. Prior to making significant progress, we recognized the need for a robust online system. We’re thankful to say that a Wonder platform is now in the works and we’re planning to open registration once it’s complete around the end of spring.
So, in the next phase of growth, our goal starting in the fall is to offer Wonder Generations as a non-tuition program for homeschool families. This is a big undertaking, and we cannot do it alone. We need other families (current and alumni homeschoolers, people of faith, and friends) who want to see this become a reality to help us accomplish our strategic plan and seek funding from private sources. We’ve seen it done, and we believe we can do it as well. If for any reason we are unable to accomplish this goal, we will keep the tuition similar until we can.
In the coming memos, we’ll plan to share more about how you can help, and we’d appreciate your prayers at this time.
On another note, we are working on confirming the schedule for next year’s Wonder Homeschool Day season. Below are a few important points for you to know:
-
- Enrollment for returning families is scheduled to open by the end of May or beginning of June
- Weekly classes will be on Tuesdays from 8:30am-5pm
- Morning Block, Lunch, and Afternoon Block times are the same
- Most of the classes we currently offer will be included
- We’ll be adding a few new classes to next year’s schedule
- We will update you with final schedule and registration information as soon as possible
- Enrollment invitations will be emailed to you directly.
- We look forward to another year of Wonder with you and your families!

WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/03/10
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/03/10
DATE: Wednesday, March 11, 2026
We need your help. We found out yesterday morning that there is a schedule mixup on March 31 (8:30am-5pm) and we cannot use our regular facilities. As guests of the church, schedules are approved before the beginning of the year, but despite this oversight, there is nothing the facilities can do to rectify the schedule. CCPC has been very gracious to allow us use of the facilities, and we understand mix-ups happen (on both sides). So…we’re hoping to find a temporary location before the end of the week.
We usually use about 12 spaces but need a minimum of 6 spaces (2 being on the larger side). Ideally, we’d like to find a location in the same area but are open to whatever is available, as it’s generally challenging finding a location that can accommodate our size and sound needs. If you have a location in mind, will you please speak with the decision maker about our need, and if they are open to welcoming us for the day, send us their contact information? As always, they can expect the space to be better left than received, and we will certainly give an offering for their generosity. You can send any referrals to hello@letswonder.org with the contact name, email, and phone number. Thank you for any help you can offer.
Here’s a sample message you can communicate (via email, text, or share over the phone):
“We need your help! Our family is a part of a ministry offering a one-day faith-based music, arts, and enrichment programs for homeschool students. We were just informed that our regular facility is not available on March 31, so we are looking for a temporary location for the day. We meet from 8:30am-5pm and usually use about 12 spaces but need a minimum of 6 spaces (2 being on the larger side). Are we able to use your facility, or do you know of one that may be available? Thank you for your consideration!”

Music from the McCarthys
This is not an event
Mr. Ryan and Mrs. Patty McCarthy have recorded a new song that will be out March 20! It’s an original hymn called “Before The Foundation” based on Ephesians 1. This song is special because it’s the first one they’ve recorded with their son Josiah on drums (insert bellowing cheer for our Wonder student and family!). You can go here to pre-save it on Spotify and iTunes. While you’re there, you can check out their previous recording projects and follow their profile so you’ll be made aware of other releases in the coming months.

TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/03/03
DATE: Wednesday, March 3, 2026
And a big THANK YOU to everyone who participated in this year’s Wonder Games! We had so much fun and hope you did as well. If you did not attend last night’s event, please ask about your fundraising prize next week. We appreciate each and every one of you for helping us get closer to our fundraising goal. We couldn’t have done it without you! And thank you to the staff volunteers who helped us facilitate the event, as well as the families who stayed a little longer to help get cleaned up.
P.S. If you have any photos or videos from the event, please send them our way by adding them to the online photo album (you may need to download an app). Thank you!
Also, a quick reminder for all performance ensembles (including Recorder, Music Makers 1 & 2), please make sure your child is practicing their music/choreography (especially the concert selections) on a daily basis. Also, if students are playing an instrument (band, orchestra), students are required to practice with a metronome during every practice session. Please make sure this is done consistently.
Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!

WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/02/17
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/02/17
DATE: Wednesday, February 18, 2026
What a wonderful day of fine arts! A big thank you to the McNiel family and the CCU Choir for sharing wonderful music with us! We hope to make this an annual activity.
Secondly, we wanted to take a moment to address a growing concern that comes around this time of the year. First, let us say that we appreciate each of your families and the work each of you has put in to help make Wonder possible. It’s been a pleasure getting to know everyone and seeing relationships grow over the course of the year. As students develop stronger friendships week after week, we understand they can become more comfortable with one another and desire to socialize more. However, during class and assembly, we expect students to be respectful, attentive, and ready to learn. We’ve received reports from multiple Guides about an increased number of disruptive behaviors since spring sessions began (such as excessive out-of-turn talking during class & instruction, poor attitudes, and tardiness). For families who may not know, we have a conflict guide to help our Guides manage behavior in the classroom. Overall, they have not needed to go beyond the Refocus step (seen below), but they have also been gracious in giving more opportunity to correct behavior than they should. Even if we meet more than once a week, Guides should not need to manage poor behavior outside of very few and unique exceptions per individual student. It is not fair to them or the other students in the class. But, especially because we only meet once a week, Guides do not have the time. Please remind your child of the Wonder Way, basic principles of grace and courtesy, and consideration of others. We will be encouraging staff to remain respectful but firm in the expectations for class behavior and to NOT be lenient to poor attitudes, but rather consistent. Please be reassured that we want your children to succeed and grow in good character, as we believe every parent does. If your student is dismissed from class, it is for this reason, and we ask for your support in this decision by enforcing good character at home.
Steps of Wonder’s Conflict Guide
1. Remember to begin with a Relationship of Respect
2. Request
3. Refocus
4. Reset & Retry
5. Remove
Thank you all for your cooperation!

- Scripture of the Month: John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” – John 14:27
- Parent Performance Reminder: This week we reminded your children about the expectations for consistent and focused home practice and how their practice records are the best way for us to know who is upholding what is required of them to be a part of the end-of-year performances. Like in any team scenario, it is every member’s individual duty to come prepared every week. One cannot master the skills, master the music, or memorize what is required (when applicable) without a consistent investment of time. Please make sure your child references the practice notes and that you are checking and signing their practice records every week (ensuring they complete, at a minimum, the total number of practice time required for their ensemble). As we communicate at the beginning of each year, it’s necessary for every member of an ensemble to do their part in order to provide a high-quality performance. Please help them be successful by supporting them in these at-home requirements.
- Dress Code Reminder: For Students and Helping Hands, Wonder Tees are to be worn and visible during Wonder every week (not outside of Wonder). We know the weather has been consistently cold outside which means more students need to wear sweaters and long-sleeve shirts. If your child needs to wear a long-sleeve shirt throughout the day, please make sure they wear their Wonder Tee over the long-sleeve shirt. Wonder staff, volunteers, and CCPC staff must be able to quickly recognize which students are Wonder participants for multiple reasons.
- Homeschool Spirit Day: (Team Day) – Represent your team color and/or animal. Accessorize in red, orange, yellow, green, blue, or purple! WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/02/03
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/02/03
DATE: Wednesday, February 4, 2026
Yesterday, we had a young (elementary-aged) child complain about name-calling during lunch. The child expressed feeling sad about the interaction with someone they’d consider a friend. This is absolutely unacceptable. Friends don’t call each other names. Friends are not unkind to one another. Friends don’t embarrass each other. Please speak to your children about upholding a standard of kindness and respect. Even with our older children, we understand most develop the maturity to engage in friendly banter and jest, but we’ve found feelings can still get hurt in the name of fun. It’s not fun to be the butt of a joke; it’s not fun to be laughed at when we’re not provoking a laugh; and it’s not always easy to tell your friends that you were hurt by something they did in the group or one-on-one. So, what do you do if this does happen? It’s so important that when someone does say something unkind or shows poor character that offends you, you kindly communicate it to them directly, allow them to apologize, and seek healthy restoration. If you confront them and they do not listen, ask a grownup for help. If someone is doing something dangerous, tell a grownup immediately. Let’s all practice and model being good friends. And remember: a friend and a good friend should mean the same thing. “A friend loves at all times” (Proverbs 17a)

Thank you to all who participated in this week’s Homeschool Spirit Day! It always feels like we’re going back to the future! And, thank you to Midpoint Band and Midpoint Orchestra for sharing music with us!
We wanted to express our sincere gratitude for each of you and your families. Wonder can be a long day for many of you and your children, but it’s also full of joyous fellowship, genuine camaraderie, and encouragement as we grow in character and different skills within each discipline. We thank you for your discipline and for pushing each other to be better in the classroom, ensemble, and at home. Week after week, we’re reminded of how important our community is for different reasons for each of us, so thank you to those who pray for Wonder, the homeschooling community, and each other.

WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/01/20
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/01/20
DATE: Wednesday, January 21, 2026
Lots and lots of folks out sick this week. Thank you to all who stepped in to fill gaps throughout the day. And, thank you to our Concert Orchestra for sharing such lovely music with us!
Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!
HIGHLIGHTS
- Scripture of the Month: Isaiah 55:12 – For you shall go out with joy, and be led out with peace. The mountains and the hills will break out before you into singing; and all the trees of the fields will clap their hands. – Isaiah 55:12 World English Bible (WEB)
- Student & Staff Photos: Please prepare accordingly: Boys- February 3, Girls- February 10, Staff – February 17, Makeup Days TBD
- Homeschool Spirit Day: January (Throwback Day) – Trends come and go. And, with so many wonderful, and not so wonderful, fashion trends making comebacks it’s likely you already have something “retro” in your closet. Hollywood 30s, swingin’ 50s, bell-bottom 70s, neon 80s—any time-period is game. Always keep in mind The Wonder Way and refrain from inappropriate attire, such as anything that may resemble cross-dressing. Let’s have fun!
- Homeschool Music Fest Days (CANCELLED): Sadly, both the Solo and Ensemble Day and the Concert Day of the Homeschool Music Fest Days have been cancelled. As some of you may know, the event organizer, Mrs. Marsha Brower, unexpectedly lost her husband in September, and she does not have the bandwidth to host this year’s event. Last year she worked tirelessly to find a new location after receiving inadequate notice that the building was no longer available for this event. Though she did find a new location, the timing didn’t allow for securing enough adjudicators for either day. We’re thankful for Miss Marsha and for all she does for the homeschool community (including continuing to instruct our flags and woodwinds while bringing joy wherever she goes). We hope this time will allow her the space to adjust to the new changes in her life and pray she continues to be comforted with unexplainable peace. Miss Marsha did express her plans to host the event again, so we all have much to look forward to next year. Thank you for your understanding and prayers.
- National Anthem: If you are interested in auditioning to sing the National Anthem at Homeschool Day at the Capitol, please let us know by Friday if you’d like more details. Auditions will be conducted by the HDAC event hosts.

WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/01/13
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/01/13
DATE: Wednesday, January 14, 2026
Apologies for the delayed memo!
It was wonderful being back at Wonder and seeing you all after break (even though our day was cut short due to an unexpected power outage)! Thank you to everyone for helping us get packed up and the truck loaded! We appreciate everyone’s understanding and prayer, as the CCPC does not know exactly what caused the outage, and they work to provide a safe location for us to use week after week. We’re thankful for them!
Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!
HIGHLIGHTS
- Scripture of the Month: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 — Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. — 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 English Standard Version (ESV)
- Helping Hands: Please remember to check-in and out in the staff binder and review the Helping Hands Daily Rundown.
- Tardy Arrival: During the fall session, we had a surprising number of tardy students during Block 1 and 2. It is imperative that students arrive on-time each week. Tardies are a disruption to class, and they make it challenging to accomplish daily goals when the guides and coaches must repeat information for students who arrive late. If they are walking in at class start-time they are late. Since we only meet once a week, it’s imperative we accomplish our daily goals within the designated time frame. Thank you!
- Wonder Hangtime Challenge: Guided PE students are practicing their hang times and pullups and you can join them and see who can hang the longest! We will run the challenge from next week until the April 22 (or sooner if we have all our challengers). Here’s the rules!
- 1) You must come to Miss Sandra or a PE Helping Hands to time your hanging. We have to be present for the timing to record it.
- 2) You can try 3 times and take the highest of the 3 times as your record.
- 3) Your feet cannot touch the sides or the box if being used to get it on.
- 4) You have to start at our call and will stop the timer as soon as you let go.
- Adults are welcome to join in as well!
- Longest hang time gets a prize!
OTHER EVENT DATES (OPTIONAL)
Meet Your Legislator Day
February 11 – Registration Required –
As homeschoolers, we believe it is our responsibility to understand our state’s homeschool laws and to advocate for parental and homeschool rights. In order to do this, we must be aware of current legislative updates regarding both. You can read (and join the email list) for legislative updates from CHEC’s Homeschool Freedom Team at chec.org/colorado-homeschool-freedom. Another way to stay involved (yay to a hands-on civic lesson!) is during Meet Your Legislator Day organized by CHEC at the Colorado State Capitol. You can make a direct impact on your district legislator’s perspective and potential voting decisions! As anti-homeschool advocates around the country continue to push for more homeschool regulations, we must remember that homeschooling is a privilege afforded to us by God and those before us who fought for the rights we currently have. Let us continue to guard our rights so our children and future generations can inherit the same privileges or better! [REGISTRATION LINK]

CLASS NOTES (REMINDERS)
In lieu of Class Notes (review most recent class notes here), please read the reminders below:
- Punctuality – Arrive On-time (Students and Helping Hands): Be Present, Be Ready, Be On-time. Please make sure your family arrives on-time each week. Students should arrive in enough time to unpack their items, get out their supplies, and tune their instruments (if applicable) BEFORE class start-time. If they are walking in at class start-time they are late. Since we only meet once a week, it’s imperative we accomplish our daily goals within the designated time-frame. Helping Hands should also be be on-time. Thank you!
- Attendance Reminder (Students and Helping Hands): A quick friendly reminder to please give prior notice of any schedule conflicts by calling the Wonder Attendance Line (303-900-3284), in advance, and following the prompt when leaving a message. This applies to all participants who are unable to attend a class or required event, will arrive late, or will leave early. All absences which are not notified in advance will be marked as unexcused. Thank you for your cooperation.
- Helping Hands: Unless written otherwise, please remain OFF your phone during your assigned Block. Also, if you are a Class Helper, please remember to actively assist the Guide without additional prompting. Be proactive by asking the Guide what they need.
- Family Wagon: Please continue bringing a collapsible wagon (or alternative solution) every Tuesday and keep your family’s items in your wagon.
- Nut-free: Please remember to bring only nut-free lunches and snacks to Wonder.
- Discovery: Please be sure your child has their water bottle. Students should be dressed warmly with socks, a coat, and gloves for outside play every week.
- Art: Please remember to bring your art supplies to class every week.
- Instruments and Choir: Please remember to bring your music bags, music (method books and/or black 3-ring binder), along with a pencil (no pens) to class every week.
- Band, Orchestra, Recorder, Choir, and Dance
- Remember to sign in and arrive in time to have music on stands and instruments out (if applicable), tuned, and ready to begin at class start time.
- Practice Records: Please remember to have your Practice Records sheets filled and signed by a parent every week. Be sure to practice what is listed on the Class Notes.
- Private Lessons: If a student wants extra practice please request a private lesson. To Request a Private Lesson: Select ‘Private Lessons’ on the Wonder Contact Page. A guide or coach will contact you directly.
- Ensemble Performance Expectations Reminder (Parents & Students)
We are very proud of our Wonder students for the progress they’ve made in learning or growing in their instruments. Though each student may experience different challenges during their musical journey, we believe the outcome is rewarding and worth the required effort. As we get closer to performance opportunities for this season, we know it’s for the benefit of every student and ensemble to reiterate and keep before us Wonder’s performance expectations.
The extent of an individual’s participation is solely in control of the student and parent. Students who have been diligent about practicing will more likely learn and master the necessary skills, while those who have not made it a priority may struggle to do both.
As communicated before break, practicing during breaks is especially important for newer musicians because it takes time and consistency to make the skills taught become more natural and dependable. Extended breaks are not helpful for individual progression or the group.
Parents, please be sure your child is practicing at home diligently. Thank you for your cooperation!

TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/12/16
DATE: Wednesday, December 17, 2025
Another wonderful first semester of Wonder is now behind us, and the blooms of growth continue before us. We’re so thankful for the opportunity to run this program and work together with your families to share in music and the arts. Thank you to all who participated in this week’s Homeschool Spirit Day! We loved all the wackiness and tackiness! And, a big thank you to Prime Choir and Youth Choir for sharing such beautiful singing with us!
Farewell to the Guida family as they make a surprise move out of state. You will be missed!
Blessings to everyone during break, and we’ll see you next year!

- WINTER BREAK: No class until next year! Winter Break starts this month. No activities from December 17 through January 12. All homeschool day classes resume Tuesday, January 13.
- Private Lessons: For all music students: Some of the coaches are available for private lessons during Winter Break (and regularly before classes begin on Tuesdays). This is especially recommended and important for students in Prelude Band and Orchestra since gaps in instruction time can undo recently learned skills more easily. To coordinate a lesson time, please select ‘Private Lessons’ on the Wonder Contact Page and complete one form for each student. A coach will contact you directly to schedule a lesson and arrange payment.
- PARENT REMINDER (PRACTICE RECORDS): If your student is in an ensemble (Bands, Orchestras, Recorder, Choirs, Dance) please remember the following:
- Be sure your student practices DURING break.
- Be sure to remind your child to practice the REQUIRED amount for the week (noted in the Class Notes, linked below). The guides and coaches post what students need to practice for the week.
- It is imperative every student dedicate the necessary time and effort in order to improve individually and as a group, and to avoid hindering the group.
- Prelude Band and Orchestra: Practicing during breaks is especially important for new musicians because it takes time and consistency to make the skills taught become more natural and dependable. Extended breaks are not helpful for individual progression or the group.
- Going a trip with no instrument?: If you are out of town and unable to bring your instrument, you can practice everything without an instrument by mime playing (which still helps develop muscle memory and skills). Remember practicing can happen without your instrument. Take your book and practice counting rhythms, saying names of notes, and fingering. You can use a pencil for your instrument or something straight-or just an imaginary something. ✈️ & 🚗 time can be excellent for practicing the basics! Listening is our way, as musicians, to study. Listening to our pieces doesn’t have to occur daily, but should be frequent.
- It is better to practice with the resources you have rather than not practicing at all. You can also listen to your pieces and practice rhythms and reading skills.
- Students should bring their SIGNED Practice Record to class each week. Be sure to monitor their practicing and sign the Practice Records every week.
- ABSENCES: Always be sure to look at the Class Notes so your child knows what to work on that week.
- Important Note for Prelude Band and Orchestra Participation
The extent of an individual’s participation is solely in control of the student and parent. Students who have been diligent about practicing will more likely learn and master the necessary skills, while those who have not made it a priority may struggle to do both.
The amount of practice time is not the only factor we use to determine if a student will participate in group performance, but it is a major one, along with attendance. For students who received an email notice for private lessons, final decision for performance participation will be made on April 30th.
Parents, please be sure your child is practicing at home diligently over the last several weeks. Thank you for your cooperation!

WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/12/09
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/12/09
DATE: Wednesday, December 10, 2025
Lots of folks were out this week, so we’re especially thankful for those who stepped in to help where there were needs! Pray everyone gets/stays healthy!
Quick Update Regarding the December 17th CDPHE Board Meeting: Wonder is a privately funded ministry and is not subject to state immunization requirements, but if your family participates in government-funded programs, Colorado’s vaccination rules apply, and you may be asked to provide immunization records or submit a medical or nonmedical exemption based on your family’s convictions or needs. Through emergency rulemaking, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is proposing changes that would require Colorado to stop referencing the federal ACIP schedule (the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices) and instead adopt the 2025 AAP Child & Adolescent Immunization Schedule. This shift would tighten school-entry and infant immunization requirements and could make exemption processes or compliance expectations more restrictive for families in state-funded settings. From our understanding, if this change passes, families who utilize Colorado’s exemption option would not be directly impacted, while those who vaccinate would be required to follow the AAP’s updated schedule. We encourage parents to review these proposed changes carefully and consider submitting written testimony or public comment so policymakers hear from families who value parental authority, religious freedom, and the right to make informed decisions.

WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/12/02
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/12/02
DATE: Wednesday, December 3, 2025
We hope everyone had a wonderful fall break with family and friends. A big thank you to Quesos Unlimited for sharing music during Assembly!
- Fall Review: If you did not schedule a Fall Review or missed your slot, please reschedule a time according to the calendar dates available. We’ve opened our schedule to allow for 2 more days of reviews. Again, this is for band, orchestra, and recorder or ALL levels.
- Homeschool Spirit Day: December (Wacky Tacky Day) – Wear your ugliest ugly sweater or your wackiest, tackiest, mismatched, colorful, and outrageous wardrobe malfunction for all to see!! Always keep in mind The Wonder Way and refrain from inappropriate attire, such as anything that may resemble cross-dressing. Let’s have fun!

WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/11/18
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/11/18
DATE: Wednesday, November 19, 2025
Thank you to all who participated in this week’s Homeschool Spirit Day! We tip our hats to you!
Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!
HIGHLIGHTS
- Scripture of the Month: John 14:27 – “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” – John 14:27
- NO CLASS NEXT WEEK: No class on Tuesday, November 26. Classes resume on Tuesday, December 3.
- Wonder Games Flyer: Wonder Games flyers were distributed this week. If you did not receive your family’s flyer, please be sure to pick it up next Wonder Tuesday at the welcome table and put it on your refrigerator! On the back of your family’s flyer is a description of the event and how it works. Everyone will receive an email dedicated to the Wonder Games with a unique link to your family fundraiser page. While on break, it’s a great time to share about all that you’re doing at Wonder with your family and friends. Thank you all for your participation and support!

MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/11/04
DATE: Wednesday, November 5, 2025
Thank you to everyone for helping make Wonder easier to facilitate every week. Many hands make light work! It’s nice to see everyone settling into the Wonder groove and coming every week ready to learn, share, and have fun. We appreciate the attentiveness, participation, and enthusiasm of each family.
And, although our nation is divided on the results of the election, it was nice to see them actually announced on election day! We were happy to see the homeschooling law not changed. Let us pray for each other, the near future, and the extended future of the next generation… our children.
- Gum: For the first time, we were notified that the facilities staff at CCPC is finding gum on the floor after we leave on Tuesday. Please communicate to your children to dispose of their gum, food, and trash in an appropriate receptacle. If we get one more notification from staff, gum will not be allowed for children.
- Homeschool Spirit Day: November (Hat Day) – Baseball caps, clown hats, cowboy hats, or styled fedoras are all perfect choices! Always keep in mind The Wonder Way and refrain from inappropriate attire, such as anything that may resemble cross-dressing. Let’s have fun!
WONDER FUNDRAISER (SAVE THE DATE)
We are on our way to reaching our funding goal for the 2025-2026 season, but we need your help to get us to the finish line.
Wonder only does one student fundraiser a year, in which we’ve raised several thousand dollars to supplement our Homeschool Day programs. We choose to do a crowdfunding-style campaign, where students can add a message to send to family, friends, church members, and parent co-workers in a simple, more hands-off way than other student fundraisers you may have done. You will receive more information about this in the coming weeks. This year, we are testing/comparing the benefits of an earlier fundraiser period, so we’re starting the fundraiser activities in the fall instead of spring. We’ve also noticed that most families wait until the deadline to submit emails, so we’re shortening the period so we have more time to spread the word. The Wonder Games flyers will be handed out before break. Please be sure to pick it up at the welcome table. On the back of your family’s flyer is a description of the event and how it works.
As a preparatory step, please think upon the following questions (no reply needed):
- As a student: What does Wonder mean to you? What do you like to learn about during Wonder? Why do you enjoy being a part of Wonder?
- As a parent: What does Wonder mean to you? What type of impact has Wonder had on your child?
What is Wonder Games?
- What: The Wonder Games is our annual fundraiser focused on active games, community spirit, fun, and friendly competition!
- When: Tuesday, March 3 from 6pm to 8pm
- Where: CCPC Community Center (Our regular Wonder HSD Building)
- Why: As a privately funded, faith-based nonprofit ministry dedicated to providing an affordable and high-quality program to families and the community, the Wonder Games allows us to host a fun student fundraiser that gets all students involved without selling items or going door-to-door, and brings the entire family together to share a night of fun games.
- How:
- Families will receive a flyer with fundraiser information and details on how the Wonder Games works. Put it on your refrigerator!
- Families use the online fundraiser form on the Wonder Games page to submit their email list of family, friends, and co-workers, along with a spot to write an optional, short personal message.
- The emails you provide will ONLY be used to communicate about the Wonder Games fundraiser on your behalf and will NOT be added to our regular email list. We will not sell, share, or trade this information with any other party.
- FUNDRAISER FORMS MUST BE SUBMITTED BY NOVEMBER 18 TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR POINTS
- Wonder will send out the fundraiser email on behalf of our Wonder families to receive donations (with online and offline giving options available).
- Students will get points for the number of contacts listed AND donations raised to redeem at the Wonder Games event.
- Please be sure to RSVP for the Wonder Games event on the Wonder Games page.
- (Alternative Options): As we shared during Family Orientation and Family Interviews, this fundraiser is now required for all Wonder Families in order to ensure we’re able to offer the program at a reduced rate for all families and provide additional need-based scholarships. If you’d prefer not to submit emails, you may choose to give a one-time donation of $500 or more in lieu of submitting emails.
- Unable to attend the event? No worries. All families who complete their fundraiser form will receive points for the number of emails submitted and can redeem their points for a prize after the Wonder Games event.
We greatly appreciate your participation and support!

DATE: Wednesday, October 29, 2025
Yee-haw! Thank you to all who dressed up for our first Homeschool Spirit Day! Y’all looked mighty fine in your western getups (we’re talkin’ to the adults, too)! And how wonderful to see so many of you participating in the dances during assembly! We are so thankful to Soquel Ross for sharing some dances with us. We hope you had as much fun as we did! Also, anybody who loves western wear and cowboy boots needs to know about the Roper Warehouse sale coming up soon!
We’re also really proud of those who have exemplified exceptional character, completed memorization of scriptures (even some full chapters!), completed their practice times, and submitted pictures and facts (the pile is getting quite high). Keep up the good work while earning points for your team!
Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!
HIGHLIGHTS
- Scripture of the Month: Psalms 71:17-18 – God, You have taught me from my youth. Until now, I have declared your wonders. Yes, even when I am old and gray-haired, God, don’t forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come. – Psalms 71:17-18
- Fall Reviews for (Band, Orchestra, Recorder Only):
- We are nearly halfway through the fall session, and it’s been a pleasure to see our Wonder students progressing in their instruments and art skills over the past several weeks. It’s especially important that we stay ahead of each student’s individual progress to make sure we help prepare them for success and maintain accountability. Thus, we’d like to have a 15-minute Fall Review with you before Wonder classes resume. We’ll hold these conference meetings via online meeting on Monday 11/24 and Tuesday 11/25 during break. Your child DOES NOT need to be present for this meeting. We’ll cover specific topics such as overall progress, practice records, private lesson recommendations (if necessary), and other pertinent information related to your family.
- While we wait to meet, please be sure your child has reviewed the most recent Class Notes and, if applicable, practices the required amount during weekly classes and break. Thank you for your cooperation, and we look forward to speaking with you!
- Directory (families and staff): The 25-26 Directory is up! Please review your information and let us know if there are any errors or updates you’d like to make. Please remember to honor everyone’s privacy and do not add anyone’s information to your personal or business email list or group chats without PRIOR APPROVAL and MUST BE INITIATED by the other party. The Directory is a tab within the 25-26 Wonder Generations spreadsheet (link below) with the calendar and Helping Hands schedule.
OTHER EVENT DATES (OPTIONAL)
Ballot Considerations
2025 Election
Election day is next week! As homeschooling has exploded over the last several years, and though we didn’t notice an increased effort by legislators to change the homeschool laws, we want to keep this message before us. Wonder’s general stance is that if bills are put forth that increase regulations or even the potential for regulations (especially when money is involved), we oppose them. Homeschooling was meant to be free from the public umbrella (both in regulations and funding), and we want to see it remain so for our children and grandchildren.
Please know and remember it wasn’t too long ago that homeschooling was illegal in Colorado. In fact, homeschooling didn’t become legal in all 50 states until 1992. Veteran homeschoolers fought tirelessly and diligently for what we have now, and we don’t want to lose our freedoms to educate our children as we see fit. Colorado homeschool laws aren’t as strict as some states and more strict than others. Again, unless a bill is going to deregulate our homeschool laws, without strings attached, we will not support it. For those who don’t know, Sweden lost their right to home education in 2011. That’s right! Parents used to be able to homeschool their children and can no longer legally do so. How did this happen? It boils down to funds and state regulation.
We also know that the institution is one we don’t share important values with. For example, any program that takes state funding must also adhere to policies that support transgender-affirming practices. This is whether they are a faith-based organization or not. This is not something we want to support and is the reason many recent homeschool families left public school. This isn’t an institution we want to support or affiliate with in any way, and we encourage each family to consider this when voting to protect homeschool, parental, and family rights.
It is also important that legislators speak with stakeholders when developing laws. With the most recent bill on the ballot, this was not done, and both HSLDA and CHEC adamantly oppose it (along with many other homeschool organizations and umbrella schools).
If you have not already done so, you can read (and join the email list) for legislative updates from CHEC’s Homeschool Freedom Team at chec.org/colorado-homeschool-freedom. A post from last year (https://chec.org/chec-blog/fallout-from-funding/) is very informative and may help us all understand why state funds present a true threat to homeschool laws in our nation.

WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/10/21
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/10/21
DATE: Wednesday, October 22, 2025
Yesterday was a blast! We could see how much fun you had throughout the day. Thanks to all the students and grownups who made yesterday’s a success! We were also encouraged to hear so many of you share your memorized scripture verses! We were sad to see a few families out sick. Although we missed everyone, we appreciate each phone call to our attendance line as it helps us all be better prepared for the day. We pray everyone gets rested and well for next week.
- Wagon (Reminder): There are still a few families who do not have a family wagon or some baskets that do not fit all your family’s items. Please make sure you have a wagon/basket next week that fits all your family’s items (excluding cellos and upright basses) Violins, percussion kits, stands, and smaller instruments need to stay in your wagons when not in use. This also helps with stands and similarly looking items being mistaken.
- Lost and Found: Items that are left at the facilities will be on the shelf of the coat rack in the 1st Floor Hallway, where CCPC usually leaves lost and found items. Occasionally, CCPC clears their lost and found, so we encourage you to check it regularly to avoid loss of possession, as we are not informed of their clearing schedule. We do our best to make sure families take their items home, but we are not responsible for left items. In the case of more costly items, like a wallet, we will plan to store them with Wonder item until the following week.
- Family Spaces (Reminder): Families are welcome to stay on the premises throughout the day. If inside, families are asked to stay in one of the designated spaces and not roam the buildings OR stay in the halls or foyer. Parents MUST accompany unenrolled children at all times.
- BLESSING TABLE (STARTING NEXT WEEK)
- Next week, we will start the Blessing Table in the welcome area. The Blessing Table is for sharing items you may no longer need or want with those in the Wonder community.
- Items brought should be free and not for sale.
- All items brought should be in good/workable new or used condition.
- Items can include homeschool curriculum, clothes (bagged/boxed and labeled with general sizing), games, etc.
- For larger items, such as furniture, you can bring a photo with your contact information listed. If someone is interested, you can coordinate a time to pickup/drop-off the item. Please DO NOT bring large items to Wonder.

WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/09/30
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/09/30
DATE: Wednesday, October 1, 2025
What a wonderful first day of Wonder!
Firstly, we want to thank everyone for your prayers! With all that is going on in the world, we’re full of gratitude for the opportunity to facilitate Wonder with a community of like-minded families. We hope you all enjoyed your classes, met some new friends (of all ages), and learned something new! Thank you to all the parents who stepped in and helped where there was a need. Thanks to all the students and parents who made yesterday’s assembly was a success! We are beginning a new journey together and look forward to working side-by-side to create wonderful music, art, and experiences to share with others. In the short time of meeting your families, we already see an environment of joy establishing. It’s going to be wonderful to see your smiling faces every week!
Please note: Wonder’s admin team will be out on Thursday of this week. The Scott family will be sure to check emails during the two-week break to answer any questions we receive, so don’t hesitate to reach out. Also, for new families who may not know, Wonder’s blackout dates for breaks include days we cannot use CCPC facilities and the Biblical festival calendar. In past years, we’ve had one or no days off for the Feast of Tabernacles, but this year the first and last day of Tabernacles are both on a Tuesday, so we have a rare two weeks off. We hope you all enjoy the time off with your families, and remember to practice during break! Blessings!
- NO CLASS NEXT 2 WEEKS: No classes or meetings on Tuesday, October 7 & 14. Classes resume on October 21.
- Homeschool Spirit Days: (October) Howdy Day – Come all cowboys and cowgirls with your favorite western or farming attire. Throw on your stylish Wild West hat, boots, and strapping belt, or jump into your trusty overalls and plaid button-up! Be sure to wear your Wonder Tee! Always keep in mind The Wonder Way and refrain from inappropriate attire, such as anything that may resemble cross-dressing. Let’s have fun!
- Wonder Honor Society: WHS is a free homeschool honor society intended to prepare the next generation of leaders. The Wonder Honor Society was established exclusively for home-educated students in grades 6–12 (younger siblings may be welcome if there’s enough interest). We provide opportunities for development in noble character and leadership, selfless service and citizenship, exceptional skills and scholarship, thoughtful business and entrepreneurship, and networking for home-educated students. We are determined to honor each student’s accomplishments, whether they are academic, creative, or socially impactful, and help families support their children’s goals as they are developed. Meetings are on Tuesday, from 6pm-8pm at CCPC. The family orientation is next week from 6pm-8pm (online link below).
- Helping Hands: We have a few adjustments to make from this week and still have a few needs we are looking to fill. We’ll update the schedule as adjustments are made (no notice will be sent out). Please remember to arrive 10 minutes before the listed class time (and depart 5 minutes after) and check-in at the Welcome Table before and after your placement for any notes for the day.
- Schedule Changes: This Thursday is the last day to submit schedule changes. Please reply to this memo with any schedule change requests.
- Also, there are always a few schedule tweaks we need to make for some students. These adjustments will be made before next class and will be reflected on their updated badge.
- Tuition: There are a few families who have not yet submitted their annual tuition for the season. Please bring your payment during next week’s class to complete your registration.
- Wagon (REMINDER): The wagon parking lot was nice and full! Please make sure ALL items must fit in the wagon except cellos and upright basses. All other instruments MUST FIT IN the wagon, along with stands, backpacks, and lunch bags. Larger families may need two wagons.
- What kind of wagon? It is best to use a wagon with wheels. They can be purchased online according to your budget and size needs, and can often be found used (facebook, nextdoor).
- Don’t own a wagon? A basket or bin could work, though the wheels of a wagon make it easier to move. ALL items must fit in the solution.
- Students FIRST CLASS: Clarification. Make sure your child arrives 15 minutes before their FIRST class so they can unpack, go to the restroom, and arrive to class on-time (music students should have their instruments out and ready to start class). During the day, students should arrive by class start time. Passing Periods between classes are only 5 minutes long, so students are not required to arrive to class earlier, but should still arrive on-time.
- Hallways: Students and Parents should not be in the halls once classes begin. Parents can stay in the FOYER or GARAGE (space between the middle and high school room). The foosball table may not be used once classes are in session, as the noise is disruptive for students in class.
- Dress Code: Wonder Tees are to be worn every week (not outside of Wonder). Please let us know if you have a shirt that is too small/big (when arms are lifted, belly should not be showing). Also, keep shorts at knee length or longer, and they should not be too tight. Leggings should be worn WITH shorts, a skirt, or with a dress, but not alone (this does not apply to babies and toddlers, but does apply to adults as well), as detailed in the Wonder Way.
- Practice Records: Please be sure to be aware of your student practice times and habits and sign their Practice Records every week. We know everyone is not familiar with the different disciplines, but we do ask that you make an effort to support your child and keep them accountable. If your child did not receive a practice record, please make sure their keep track of their practic minutes every day and bring it to class with your signature.
- Focused Practice: For those with students who are in a performance ensemble, please remember the general Wonder philosophy of guiding students through new skills and material. We focus on skill-based music, arts, and enrichment. This means, we find repetition and mastery important. We do not tend to rush through material, but would rather take a systematic and intentional approach to ensure students are developing a strong foundation to build upon. This tends to be a slower process, especially because we only meet once a week. Please familiarize yourself and your child with the Focused Practice Guide.
- Private Lessons: Although not required for all students, we highly encourage our musicians to take private lessons in their respective instruments. It is here, under the guidance and responsibility of a private music teacher, where musicians are more likely to acquire excellent technique, which leads to mastery of skills and excellent musicianship. You will be notified if your child is struggling and will need lessons to keep up with the class pace.
- Stay Healthy: Now that we’re getting together again, it’s a good time to take any immune-boosting remedies and continue drinking plenty of water.
- Allergies: We have a few students who have severe allergies. We may need to adjust some of the food allergy restrictions and will update everyone if so.
- Checking Out: Please be sure to checkout at the Welcome Table before leaving (return badges and sign-out with the Helping Hands at the Welcome Table).

WGN MEMO: FIRST DAY OF WONDER PREP
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: FIRST DAY OF WONDER
DATE: Wednesday, September 11, 2024
Hello, Wonder Families. It was a pleasure seeing you all on Tuesday. We usually send this memo out the day after orientation, but it’s taken us until now, as our ability to focus on all our normal tasks was challenging. We wanted to share a few words to acknowlodge what happened on Wednesday and to let you know we will be available on Monday and Tuesday to answer any of your questions regarding Wonder.
Like all of you, we are extremely saddened by the murderous assassination of Charlie Kirk, a strong and dedicated Believer, husband, father, son, brother, and founder of Turning Point USA.
Charlie was shot and killed during one of his friendly, debate-style college campus events that had made him famous. This was the first stop in the national “American Comeback Tour,” held in front of 3,000 people at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, about 40 miles south of Salt Lake City.
Over the years, we’ve watched countless hours of Charlie Kirk debating and engaging in open dialogue with anyone willing to disagree with him—on everything from his unwavering pro-life stance to his relentless defense of the faith in conversations with doubting atheists. Time and time again, he would share his faith and his hope in Jesus, always pointing people to Him, no matter the skin color or political views of his debating opponent.
The Scott family attended Turning Point’s annual AmericaFest conference last December. We didn’t get the chance to meet Charlie Kirk, but Helen and our children did meet his wife, Erika, who was very sweet and pleasant with them.
Charlie and Erika have a 3-year-old daughter and a 1-year-old son—now left without a father. Erika is now a widow. Please keep their family in your prayers as they walk through this very difficult time and learn to live without the anchor and protector of their family, Charlie Kirk.
“Pure religion and undefiled before our God and Father is this: to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.” —James 1:27
“Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep.” —Romans 12:15
P. S. Allie Beth Stucky, who some of you may have met at the Rocky Mountain Homeschool Conference in 2022 when she was a keynote speaker, was a close friend of Charlie Kirk and shared a touching tribute which you can watch at https://youtu.be/XoSr4NYPaBM?si=Q-tXZy-XBWlumTsm
We suggest reading these first few memos from a computer.
Thank you all for joining us Tuesday night! A big thank you to our staff, parents, and the returning high school students (Junior Helpers) who helped us serve our Wonder families! So many new and returning faces! We greatly appreciate your commitment and enthusiasm for Wonder’s music, arts, and enrichment program. We hope you were encouraged by the vision of Wonder at this year’s Family Orientation and understand more the expectations we have for all students, parents, and staff. Quite a bit of information was covered (and some we missed – which we’ve included as highlights in this memo below) so please feel free to ask us any questions during the weekly classes.
On behalf of the entire Wonder Team, we hope that you have enjoyed a restful and relaxing summer full of opportunities spent with family and friends! As we begin our 6th year of Wonder, we are particularly grateful for the blessing of this community of staff, students and families in our lives, and are eager to see you again on the first day of classes.
We have spent the summer working hard to strengthen and enrich our music, arts, and enrichment program, fortify our identity as a faith-based, family-focused, community-centered organization, and put systems in place that will facilitate guide/family communication in every class. We are proud and excited to launch the 2025-2026 season with our incredibly talented and dedicated instructor and coach staff and your ongoing support and partnership!
Also, a quick clarification. Last night’s meal was completely complementary, and no payment was charged for it during your online registration.
We look forward to seeing everyone on the first day of Wonder. Please let us know in the comments if you have any questions and we’ll do our best to answer them.
Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!

- Tees: We hope to have new tees (and new apparel) in by the first day of class. Returning students should swap out their old tee if it is too small. Otherwise, please keep your current tee. We did not charge families for sweaters and pullovers yet because we are still finalizing a new vendor selection and will let you know when this is available.
- Helping Hands: Please review the Helping Hands page for expectations. If you do not see your Helping Hands placement on the schedule please respond to this memo and be prepared to be given an assignment upon arrival on the first day of classes (15-minutes earlier on the 1st day, 10-minutes earlier normally, 5-minutes after class normally). EXPECTATIONS
If you have not yet done so, please take this time to review the Wonder Way (member expectations), as we depend on every member to uphold the vision and standards set in place.
Regarding the Dress Code. Everyone’s definition of modesty may vary, and that is okay, however, during your time at Wonder and Wonder hosted events, we expect participants (males, females, young people, and grownups) to follow the dress code according to the Wonder Way. Often times, an emphasis is placed on women to uphold modesty, and although some details may apply to a particular gender based on what’s culturally worn in society, our intention is to have expectations void of partiality. Please note the following highlights:
- Changing Clothes: Students will not typically have time to change throughout the day, so please dress in comfortable, but not frumpy attire, that allows for free movement.
- Attire to Avoid: Please refrain from inappropriate attire, such as anything that may resemble cross-dressing.
- Follow the 4Bs: To keep it simple – No Backs, Bellies, Busts, or Bums
- Bottoms: Shorts, skirts (and dresses) should be at below-thigh length or longer (right above the knee) and should not be too tight
- Leggings: Leggings should be worn with shorts, a skirt, or with a dress, but not alone (this does not apply to babies and toddlers)
ATTENDANCE
Wonder programs depend on every participant to be prepared, present, and on-time during each class, rehearsal, concert, and event. Please give prior notice of any schedule conflicts by calling the Wonder Attendance Line (303-900-3284), in advance, and following the prompt when leaving a message. This applies to all participants who are unable to attend a class or required event, will arrive late, or will leave early. All absences which are not notified in advance will be marked as unexcused. Thank you for your cooperation.
CLASS NOTES
- Please be sure to SHOW the Class Notes to your child every week (even if they are absent)
- Class Notes are mainly posted for students to reference when practicing. You can expect to have Class Notes for your child during most weeks if they are in a performance class. Other classes will usually have Class Notes posted less frequently.
- Class Notes can be printed. To print, click on the Memo Title to view the View PDF & Print link above the selected memo. You can save paper by selecting the option to print 2-pages on one page, double sided.

WGN MEMO: HELPING HANDS & ORIENTATION
TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: HELPING HANDS & ORIENTATION
DATE: Monday, September 8, 2025
Family Orientation is tomorrow! Please read this memo and the Welcome Memo and be sure to complete the tasks in the Action Items at the bottom of each memo.
We will be available tomorrow during orientation to offer any additional support. We look forward to seeing everyone in person!
Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!
MANDATORY FAMILY ORIENTATION (WGN)
- Wonder Generations Family Orientation [TOMORROW]: Please plan to arrive on time so we can start promptly at the start times listed in the Welcome Memo.
- Parents with Instrument Students: New and returning parents, please make sure you are present for the instrument masterclass at 3pm if you have a child playing an instrument (not Music Makers 1 or 2).
- Picking up an instrument? Please arrive closer to 2:45, if possible, if you are picking up an instrument from a vendor during orientation.
- Final Registration: Please view your original Final Registration email for your class schedule and family balance. If you communicated changes with us last week, please reference the same link. Any additional changes or corrections will be done during orientation.
HELPING HANDS
The Helping Hands schedule is updated! Thank you for your patience! Please take a look at the schedule and make sure you know your placement time. We do our best to coordinate the schedule while also matching volunteers to a class that fits their background and experience. This approach, although it requires more time, has been the best and most beneficial for Wonder students and the overall program. We do also consider everyone’s availability and preference, time of enrollment, whether a family has babies/toddlers, class sizes, and Wonder’s priority needs. We cannot guarantee a parent will be placed in their child’s class, and we ask that you not request a change for this reason. Though, please let us know if you have concerns about your placement.
- Helping Hands Schedule [See Link Below]
- Unfilled Needs: We have several unfilled needs on the schedule indicated by empty gray fields below their respective placements. If you already have a placement and would like to signup for an additional one, please let us know on Tuesday during the Helping Hands Breakout. You can also sign up as a floater/backup during unassigned blocks so we know who we can reach out to if there is an unfilled sub need. Many hands make light work!
- Not listed?: If you do not see your name on the schedule, we will plan to discuss your placement on Tuesday during the Helping Hands Breakout.
- 2 Blocks Required?: If you are required to complete 2 blocks but only see one listed, we will plan to discuss your other placement on Tuesday during the Helping Hands Breakout.
- Question Mark: If you see a question mark by your name, we have a few questions for you before confirming this placement.
- Other Placement Options: Right now, our priority placement needs are listed on the schedule. We do have other options that are very low on our priority list and will not assign them at this time. If you still need a placement, please plan to sign up for one of the immediate needs. Thank you for your understanding.
Helping Hands should:
- Sign-in and out upon arrival and departure (foyer)
- Read the Daily Rundown upon arrival
- Review Helping Hands Guide which lists placement details
- Wear a name badge (which should be visible) at all times
- Helping Hands are scheduled and expected to honor the following schedule:
- Arrive 15 minutes BEFORE the listed class time for the first week (usually 10 minutes before) AND
- Dismissed 5 minutes AFTER the listed class time (or when tasks are complete)
- Connect with your class Guide upon arrival
- Make every effort to make class transitions as smooth as possible
- Encourage every Wonder member to honor and behave according to the Wonder Way
