WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/12/09

TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/12/09
DATE: Wednesday, December 10, 2025

Lots of folks were out this week, so we’re especially thankful for those who stepped in to help where there were needs! Pray everyone gets/stays healthy!

Quick Update Regarding the December 17th CDPHE Board Meeting: Wonder is a privately funded ministry and is not subject to state immunization requirements, but if your family participates in government-funded programs, Colorado’s vaccination rules apply, and you may be asked to provide immunization records or submit a medical or nonmedical exemption based on your family’s convictions or needs. Through emergency rulemaking, the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) is proposing changes that would require Colorado to stop referencing the federal ACIP schedule (the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices) and instead adopt the 2025 AAP Child & Adolescent Immunization Schedule. This shift would tighten school-entry and infant immunization requirements and could make exemption processes or compliance expectations more restrictive for families in state-funded settings. From our understanding, if this change passes, families who utilize Colorado’s exemption option would not be directly impacted, while those who vaccinate would be required to follow the AAP’s updated schedule. We encourage parents to review these proposed changes carefully and consider submitting written testimony or public comment so policymakers hear from families who value parental authority, religious freedom, and the right to make informed decisions.

Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Scripture of the Month: 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 — Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. — 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 English Standard Version (ESV)
  • Homeschool Spirit Day: December (Wacky Tacky Day) – Wear your ugliest ugly sweater or your wackiest, tackiest, mismatched, colorful, and outrageous wardrobe malfunction for all to see!! Always keep in mind The Wonder Way and refrain from inappropriate attire, such as anything that may resemble cross-dressing. Let’s have fun!
