WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/05/12

TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/05/12
DATE: Wednesday, May 27, 2026

The season is officially over, and we miss it already! Family Day was WONDERFUL! Theater (and music students), we were so happy to watch all of your hard work come together during your presentations! You all blew us away! Thank you to you all for helping everyone experience a season of peace, joy, patience, grace, and community. We could not have done it without you… each student, each parent, each volunteer, each guide, and each coach doing your part…and sometimes more. It was such an honor meeting you and spending time with you every Tuesday. We hope you all have a wonderful summer with family and friends and look forward to another year of wonder in 2026-2027! And again, a special thanks to Shemayah for stepping in as coordinator for all the spring events.

Congratulations to the Red Foxes! Dane Allison, Alaiya Andrews, Laura Blanchard, Ava Byrnes, August Cornwell, Joseph Davenport, Chavah Dean, Cassidy Fundenberger, James Henson, Jonah Hzikiase, Everett LaPierre, Devon Liedle, Bane Lucero, Micah Mason, Tess McHugh, Arthur McNeil, Evelyn Newsham, Aspen Perret-Gentil, Max Piche, Benedict Polsky, Bella Russo, Boaz Russo, Ashiyra Scott, Adalynn Seabeck, Anneliese Stanczyk, Isaac Winterburn, and you earned Wonder’s annual Team of the Year award through your hard work each week this year. In addition to ongoing recognition of being the 2026 Team of the Year, your team color will be permanently marked on the Wonder Rainstick for a memorial for all future years.

Also, multiple students asked what the total points were for the year so here you go: Red Foxes had 29,995 points, Orange Tigers had 22,606, Yellow Eagles had 26,857, Green Geckos had 15,702, Blue Dolphins had 13,091, and Purple Panthers had 7,720 points. Great job, everyone! We’re so proud of the good character you exemplified, your scripture memory work, your creativity, and all of your effort this year.

Also, we forgot to acknowledge the students who earned a leadership award. You all received a printed award in your yearbooks, but we wanted to honor everyone at this time. HIGHLIGHTS

  • Scripture of the Month: Psalms 136:1 – Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. – Psalms 136:1 New King James Version (NKJV)
  • Special Notes: In lieu of our regular class notes, in this memo are short notes from each of your guides and coaches for ALL classes. Don’t miss reading them.
  • Scott Family Update: The Scott family had an expected local move starting in April (right in the middle of all the unexpected dress rehearsal and concert schedule/facilities rearranging) and will still be moving through the beginning of June. All these challenges have caused additional delays in this memo being published, the concert video being published, and enrollment with the new system being ready to take registration for next year. Once the move is complete and the CHEC conference has passed, progress can be made on necessary tasks during the remaining days in June. They are all set with help on both sides of the move and Wonder admin tasks but just need the time to get caught up. Therefore, the Scotts will be on break until about June 23th and will reply to any questions or emails upon return (excluding fair related inquires or urgent needs). We will let you know if there are any further delays. We appreciate your patience and prayers.
  • Homeschool Days Fair (June 2): Please plan to attend this event and support the young homeschool entrepreneurs and WHS students who organized this opportunity. It would mean a lot to see you!
  • Yearbooks, Lost & Found, Art Project Pickup (Tuesday June 2): If you need to pick up your yearbook (or want to get them signed), lost & found items (unless the church cleared them will be at the church), or art projects, we’ll also be at CCPC from 10-1 on June 2 during the Colorado Homeschool Days Fair. You can come by during that time.
  • Return Music: If you were unable to return your sheet music/performance books (return concert books; keep method books unless there were borrowed) during Family Day, please plan to return them during the Fair. If you are planning to return next year and will not attend the Fair, please plan to return them during Orientation. And, if you are not returning next year, please let us know so we can coordinate another option. Thank you for your help with this.
  • Year of Wonder Event Video: You will soon be able to view this season’s Year of Wonder Spring Concert video! We will update this memo by the end of June with an active link. Please watch to the end so you don’t miss the fun surprise post-credit clip. [LINK]
  • 2026-2027 Enrollment (By June 30th): Enrollment for the 2026-2027 season will open soon for returning families! You will receive an invitation to return to Wonder as soon as possible. Once received, please review enrollment details from the link in the email and be sure to complete your Wonder Homeschool Day Family Enrollment Application as soon as possible to reserve your spot. Enrollment is scheduled to open to NEW families by the beginning of July, so we suggest registering prior to then before classes fill up. Tuition (or initial payment) & Material Fees are not due until Family Orientation in September, however classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Open House, Instrument Fair, and Placement Audition information is also included. Please feel free to comment on this memo with any questions.
  • Final Payment: For those who opted for the monthly recurring payment option or have a balance, please look for an email with your remaining balance.
  • Parent Survey: As we plan for the upcoming year, we’d greatly appreciate your feedback for consideration to help us improve Wonder programs. Please complete a Parent Survey before the end of May (see link below).
  • Summer Practice Required: Returning students in band, orchestra, bucketline, drumline, recorder, choir, and asl signing choir create a regular practice schedule that helps you review and learn more music throughout the summer.
  • Private Lessons: Although private lessons are not required for all students, we highly suggest scheduling several during the summer to maintain, improve, and prevent any loss of proper technique and skill level. To coordinate a lesson time, please select ‘Private Lessons’ on the Wonder Contact Page and complete one form for each student OR contact your preferred Private Studio directly.  A coach will contact you directly to schedule a lesson and arrange payment.
  • ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOMESCHOOL CONFERENCE (RMHC)

Wonder will have a booth at this year’s RMHC. If you’re attending the conference, please stop by and say hello! We also need volunteers to assist in the booth. If you’re interested in volunteering, please comment on this memo with your dates and times of availability. Volunteers do need to register for the event independently, as we have limited tickets with this new location. We will let you know if and when you are needed based on your submitted availability.
