WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/10/21

TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2025/10/21
DATE: Wednesday, October 22, 2025

Yesterday was a blast! We could see how much fun you had throughout the day. Thanks to all the students and grownups who made yesterday’s a success! We were also encouraged to hear so many of you share your memorized scripture verses! We were sad to see a few families out sick. Although we missed everyone, we appreciate each phone call to our attendance line as it helps us all be better prepared for the day.  We pray everyone gets rested and well for next week.

Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Scripture of the Month: Psalms 71:17-18 – God, You have taught me from my youth. Until now, I have declared your wonders. Yes, even when I am old and gray-haired, God, don’t forsake me, until I have declared your strength to the next generation, your might to everyone who is to come. – Psalms 71:17-18
  • Wagon (Reminder): There are still a few families who do not have a family wagon or some baskets that do not fit all your family’s items. Please make sure you have a wagon/basket next week that fits all your family’s items (excluding cellos and upright basses) Violins, percussion kits, stands, and smaller instruments need to stay in your wagons when not in use. This also helps with stands and similarly looking items being mistaken.
  • Lost and Found: Items that are left at the facilities will be on the shelf of the coat rack in the 1st Floor Hallway, where CCPC usually leaves lost and found items. Occasionally, CCPC clears their lost and found, so we encourage you to check it regularly to avoid loss of possession, as we are not informed of their clearing schedule. We do our best to make sure families take their items home, but we are not responsible for left items. In the case of more costly items, like a wallet, we will plan to store them with Wonder item until the following week.
  • Family Spaces (Reminder): Families are welcome to stay on the premises throughout the day. If inside, families are asked to stay in one of the designated spaces and not roam the buildings OR stay in the halls or foyer. Parents MUST accompany unenrolled children at all times.
  • BLESSING TABLE (STARTING NEXT WEEK)
    • Next week, we will start the Blessing Table in the welcome area. The Blessing Table is for sharing items you may no longer need or want with those in the Wonder community.
    • Items brought should be free and not for sale.
    • All items brought should be in good/workable new or used condition.
    • Items can include homeschool curriculum, clothes (bagged/boxed and labeled with general sizing), games, etc.
    • For larger items, such as furniture, you can bring a photo with your contact information listed. If someone is interested, you can coordinate a time to pickup/drop-off the item. Please DO NOT bring large items to Wonder.
    • All items are available on a first-come, first-claim basis.
    • Items cannot be stored at Wonder for later pickup and must be removed from the table immediately and taken to your vehicle.
    • All unclaimed items that remain by the end of the day (5:00pm) will be taken to a thrift store without receipt or given away to a family in need without further notice. If this becomes a challenge to manage, we may require unclaimed items to be taken back by the person who brought the item before leaving for the day.
  • Homeschool Spirit Days (NEXT WEEK): (October) Howdy Day – Come all cowboys and cowgirls with your favorite western or farming attire. Throw on your stylish Wild West hat, boots, and strapping belt, or jump into your trusty overalls and plaid button-up! Be sure to wear your Wonder Tee! Always keep in mind The Wonder Way and refrain from inappropriate attire, such as anything that may resemble cross-dressing. Let’s have fun!
