WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/04/28

TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/04/28
DATE: Wednesday, April 29, 2026

Apologies for sending this memo so late in the day. We just finished the schedule for next week. Thank you for your understanding and prayers!

0 more classes until the Year of Wonder: Spring Concert and Art Display & 1 last week on Family Day!

Thank you all for your patience and hard work. We stayed on time for most of the rehearsal! A big thank you to Miss Shemayah, Miss Patty, and Miss Menorah for helping run the rehearsals! We didn’t get to take photos, so we’ll do all of them next week! Theater rehearsal also went so well, and we’re excited to see your monologues on Family Day (May 12)! Even though it was a long and busy day, it ended wonderfully, seeing you all in character! A big thanks to everyone (especially Miss Samantha and Miss Tara) for helping with facilitating the rehearsal, as well as setup and breakdown. What a day!

We’d appreciate everyone stepping up and sharing online (homeschool groups), especially about Family Day and Homeschool Days Fair. The links are below under the Action Items section. Thank you!

Please be sure to read this memo so we can all be prepared for the next final weeks. Please be on-time and let us know if you have any questions as soon as possible so we can clarify for everyone. And, please remember to add your photos from the year to the album at the bottom of this memo. Thank you!

Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Scripture of the Month: Psalms 136:1 – Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. – Psalms 136:1 New King James Version (NKJV)
  • No Regular Class (May 5) (NEXT WEEK): No classes on Tuesday, May 5. ONLY the Year of Wonder afternoon tech rehearsal and evening event.
  • Year of Wonder (May 5) (NEXT WEEK): Please view the event memo for details and arrive promptly. [LINK]
  • Facilities Conflict Update:
    • May 5 (Updated): We can still use the sanctuary for the main concert (May 5, 6PM), but the tech rehearsal and call-times are modified to a very tight schedule. The art instillation will remain the same. Please make sure your child is dressed and has food with them when they arrive. Also, as a reminder from the HH Guide, if you are a Class Helper for an ensemble of art class, please plan to arrive during the arrival time of the students of that ensemble or during the art installation, respectively.
    • May 12 (In progress): We are still working through our options for Family Day. The day is still open for registration, and we don’t expect changes to Theater Monologues, but the rest of the day may need to be moved around. At this point, we will keep to our original schedule. Performance groups, please plan to attend from 9am-2pm (expect for drumline, buckets, flags, and percussion students, who arrive at 8:30am to set up for the mini concert). Non-performance groups can plan to attend the day with the alternative schedule (arriving at 10am to watch the concert). For those who have never attended, Family Day offers an alternative schedule of classes until 5pm, including a showing of the theater monologues, so you should plan to stay as late as 5pm to show your support or until your usual last class. We’ll send out a tentative memo next Thursday, at the latest. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
  • Attire Questions: We had a few new questions about attire:
    • Sparkles are NOT permitted.
    • Dark brown soles on male dress shoes are permitted, as they are often standard with this type of shoe.
    • Leggings may NOT be worn by themselves. A skirt or dress must be worn over leggings.
  • Percussion Students: Please note your arrival time is not the same as band. You need to arrive earlier to help setup all percussion needs.
  • Needle Punch: If your child took their kit home to complete a project, please make sure they bring it to the concert WITH their hoop, and if they left their hoop at home, please bring it.
  • Theater: We do not have another rehearsal before our Family Day performance (4pm). Please help your child continue to practice their lines or improve ideas at home. We are especially emphasizing practicing projection, articulation, movement, and use of dynamics. Thank you for your continued at-home support of theater!
  • 2026 Colorado Homeschool Days Fair Youth Marketplace: WHS students have been hard at work planning this year’s fair. Please support them by registering your child as a Youth Exhibitor and registering to attend the event linked below.
