DATE: Monday, September 8, 2025

Family Orientation is tomorrow! Please read this memo and the Welcome Memo and be sure to complete the tasks in the Action Items at the bottom of each memo.

We will be available tomorrow during orientation to offer any additional support. We look forward to seeing everyone in person!

Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!

MANDATORY FAMILY ORIENTATION (WGN)

  • Wonder Generations Family Orientation [TOMORROW]: Please plan to arrive on time so we can start promptly at the start times listed in the Welcome Memo.
  • Parents with Instrument Students: New and returning parents, please make sure you are present for the instrument masterclass at 3pm if you have a child playing an instrument (not Music Makers 1 or 2).
  • Picking up an instrument? Please arrive closer to 2:45, if possible, if you are picking up an instrument from a vendor during orientation.
  • Final Registration: Please view your original Final Registration email for your class schedule and family balance. If you communicated changes with us last week, please reference the same link. Any additional changes or corrections will be done during orientation.

HELPING HANDS

The Helping Hands schedule is updated! Thank you for your patience! Please take a look at the schedule and make sure you know your placement time. We do our best to coordinate the schedule while also matching volunteers to a class that fits their background and experience. This approach, although it requires more time, has been the best and most beneficial for Wonder students and the overall program. We do also consider everyone’s availability and preference, time of enrollment, whether a family has babies/toddlers, class sizes, and Wonder’s priority needs. We cannot guarantee a parent will be placed in their child’s class, and we ask that you not request a change for this reason. Though, please let us know if you have concerns about your placement.

  • Helping Hands Schedule [See Link Below]
  • Unfilled Needs: We have several unfilled needs on the schedule indicated by empty gray fields below their respective placements. If you already have a placement and would like to signup for an additional one, please let us know on Tuesday during the Helping Hands Breakout. You can also sign up as a floater/backup during unassigned blocks so we know who we can reach out to if there is an unfilled sub need.  Many hands make light work!
  • Not listed?: If you do not see your name on the schedule, we will plan to discuss your placement on Tuesday during the Helping Hands Breakout.
  • 2 Blocks Required?: If you are required to complete 2 blocks but only see one listed, we will plan to discuss your other placement on Tuesday during the Helping Hands Breakout.
  • Question Mark: If you see a question mark by your name, we have a few questions for you before confirming this placement.
  • Other Placement Options: Right now, our priority placement needs are listed on the schedule. We do have other options that are very low on our priority list and will not assign them at this time. If you still need a placement, please plan to sign up for one of the immediate needs. Thank you for your understanding.

Helping Hands should:

  • Sign-in and out upon arrival and departure (foyer)
  • Read the Daily Rundown upon arrival
  • Review Helping Hands Guide which lists placement details
  • Wear a name badge (which should be visible) at all times
  • Helping Hands are scheduled and expected to honor the following schedule:
    • Arrive 15 minutes BEFORE the listed class time for the first week (usually 10 minutes before) AND
    • Dismissed 5 minutes AFTER the listed class time (or when tasks are complete)
  • Connect with your class Guide upon arrival
  • Make every effort to make class transitions as smooth as possible
  • Encourage every Wonder member to honor and behave according to the Wonder Way
