We hope you’re all enjoying your break, playing your instruments, creating art, and partaking in musical and artistic opportunities during this season. We are especially excited to see everyone together again next week.

Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!

Review Expectations: As we get back into the swing of things it’s a good time to review The Wonder Way, our member expectations.
Homeschool Spirit Day: January (Throwback Day) – Trends come and go. And, with so many wonderful, and not so wonderful, fashion trends making comebacks it’s likely you already have something “retro” in your closet. Hollywood 30s, swingin’ 50s, bell-bottom 70s, neon 80s—any time-period is game. Always keep in mind The Wonder Way and refrain from inappropriate attire, such as anything that may resemble cross-dressing. Let’s have fun!

CLASS NOTES (REMINDERS)

In lieu of Class Notes (review most recent class notes here), please read the reminders below:

Punctuality – Arrive On-time (Students and Helping Hands): Be Present, Be Ready, Be On-time. Please make sure your family arrives on-time each week. Students should arrive in enough time to unpack their items, get out their supplies, and tune their instruments (if applicable) BEFORE class start-time. If they are walking in at class start-time they are late. Since we only meet once a week, it’s imperative we accomplish our daily goals within the designated time-frame. Helping Hands should also be be on-time. Thank you!
Attendance Reminder (Students and Helping Hands): A quick friendly reminder to please give prior notice of any schedule conflicts by calling the Wonder Attendance Line (303-900-3284), in advance, and following the prompt when leaving a message. This applies to all participants who are unable to attend a class or required event, will arrive late, or will leave early. All absences which are not notified in advance will be marked as unexcused. Thank you for your cooperation.
Helping Hands: Unless written otherwise, please remain OFF your phone during your assigned Block. Also, if you are a Class Helper, please remember to actively assist the Guide without additional prompting. Be proactive by asking the Guide what they need.
Family Wagon: Please continue bringing a collapsible wagon (or alternative solution) every Tuesday and keep your family’s items in your wagon.
Nut-free: Please remember to bring only nut-free lunches and snacks to Wonder.
Discovery: Please be sure your child has their water bottle. Students should be dressed warmly with socks, a coat, and gloves for outside play every week.
Art: Please remember to bring your art supplies to class every week.
Instruments and Choir: Please remember to bring your music bags, music (method books and/or black 3-ring binder), along with a pencil (no pens) to class every week.
Band, Orchestra, Recorder, Choir, and Dance
- Remember to sign in and arrive in time to have music on stands and instruments out (if applicable), tuned, and ready to begin at class start time.
- Practice Records: Please remember to have your Practice Records sheets filled and signed by a parent every week. Be sure to practice what is listed on the Class Notes.
- Private Lessons: If a student wants extra practice please request a private lesson. To Request a Private Lesson: Select ‘Private Lessons’ on the Wonder Contact Page. A guide or coach will contact you directly.
Ensemble Performance Expectations Reminder (Parents & Students)

We are very proud of our Wonder students for the progress they’ve made in learning or growing in their instruments. Though each student may experience different challenges during their musical journey, we believe the outcome is rewarding and worth the required effort. As we get closer to performance opportunities for this season, we know it’s for the benefit of every student and ensemble to reiterate and keep before us Wonder’s performance expectations.

The amount of practice time is not the only factor we use to determine if a student will participate in group performance, but it is a major one, along with attendance. It is neither fair to the individual or the group to allow a student to participate if they do not know how to play the music well due to a lack of practice at home.

We desire to give students as much time as possible in order to be successful. If a student is putting in the effort but struggling, we will do our best to make accommodations for the student. That is not the same for someone who is struggling but is not putting in the time to improve.

The extent of an individual’s participation is solely in control of the student and parent. Students who have been diligent about practicing will more likely learn and master the necessary skills, while those who have not made it a priority may struggle to do both.

As communicated before break, practicing during breaks is especially important for newer musicians because it takes time and consistency to make the skills taught become more natural and dependable. Extended breaks are not helpful for individual progression or the group.

Parents, please be sure your child is practicing at home diligently. Thank you for your cooperation!

Wonder’s Collection and Use of Personal Information:

Wonder collects Personal Information supplied to us voluntarily by individuals, supporters, volunteers, and visitors to this website. We may use such voluntarily provided information to improve our understanding of your interests, to improve our services, or to contact you for future support. In order to utilize certain features of our site or receive information from Wonder or make a donation, you may choose to provide Personal Information. If you do submit information to us, we will use that information for the purposes for which it was submitted. We may also use your information in other ways, such as to contact you about other Wonder activities and/or fundraising campaigns, to conduct matching on Facebook or other social media, or as otherwise disclosed to you at the point of collection. We may also use your name, postal address and telephone number(s) to contact you offline.

We will not sell, share or trade our donors’ names or personal information with any other entity, nor send mailings to our donors on behalf of other organizations.

In the event an employer establishes a giving fund their employees can contribute to, Wonder will ask for the donor (employee’s) consent in sharing their personal information back with the employer, for the limited purposes of substantiating the donation and acknowledging the employee’s support.

If you do not wish us to contact you offline, receive such mailings or share your information with these organizations, you may opt-out by contacting us in accordance with the “Opt-Out” section of this policy.

Wonder uses third-party vendors to provide services on this website and in offline business operations. The information that you submit on this site may be provided to those vendors on a confidential basis so that those vendors can provide services (such as maintaining our database, sending email messages, facilitating fundraising activities, or processing credit card transactions) on our behalf.

Other than as described in this privacy policy, or as may be necessary to protect the rights, property, and safety of our organization or others, or as may be necessary to comply with applicable law, Wonder will not give or sell the Personal Information you provide online.

Wonder uses the non-personally identifiable Aggregate Data information to improve the design and content of the site and to enable Wonder to personalize your Internet experience. Wonder may use the Aggregate Data to analyze Site usage as well as create services and/or products to fit your needs. Also, Wonder shares this Aggregate Data with Wonder’s related entities, advertisers, partners, and/or other third-party vendors. Wonder shall own such Aggregate Data and maintain copies of such as part of its records.

Use of Email Address:

Wonder complies with those provisions of the CAN-SPAM Act applicable to charitable organizations. All email messages contain a link to unsubscribe from Wonder email. User Submissions:

Wonder welcomes your comments and participation on its site. However, you acknowledge that if you send us creative suggestions, stories, photos, videos, ideas, notes, drawings, concepts, or other information, the information shall be deemed, and shall remain, the property of Wonder. By submission of any information to us, you assign to us and we shall exclusively own all now known or hereafter existing rights to such information and shall be entitled to unrestricted use of the information for any purpose whatsoever, commercial or otherwise, without compensation.

As a user of this site, you are responsible for your own communications and are responsible for the consequences of their posting. Calls and texts:

If you give us your number, we may call or text you regarding Wonder programs or seek donations. We will contact you through these methods only in accordance with applicable legal requirements, and you always have the ability to opt-out of further calls or texts.

Mobile Terms and Conditions

There is no fee from Wonder to receive text messages. Message and data rates may apply- this can be checked with your mobile service provider. Charges are billed and payable to your mobile service provider or deducted from your prepaid account.
Data obtained from you in connection with this SMS service may include your mobile phone number, your carrier’s name, and the date, time, and content of your messages. We may use this information to contact you and provide the services you request from us. Alerts sent via SMS may not be delivered if the mobile phone is not in range of a transmission site, or if sufficient network capacity is not available at a particular time. Even within a coverage area, factors beyond the control of the wireless operator may interfere with message delivery, including the customer’s equipment, terrain, proximity to buildings, foliage, and weather. Notice of Right to Opt-Out of Sale of Personal Information

The purpose of this notice is to inform you of your right to request we not sell your personal information. You have the right to opt-out of the sale of your personal information by Wonder.

Exercising California Privacy Rights
You may contact us and obtain information on the kind of data we’ve collected about you and the types of third parties we share it with. At your request, we will provide a copy of the data, if you want. If you’d like to delete your data or close your account, or otherwise opt-out of the sale or sharing of your information, you can do that by completing this form at https://feedingamerica.org/ccpa, emailing escalations@feedingamerica.org or by calling 1-800-910-5524.

We provide these options for your benefit and we will never discriminate against you for using them. But if you choose to delete your data, we won’t be able to offer you any information, services, or other support that require us to use your data.

“Deleting” Personal information is defined by:

Permanently and completely erasing the personal information on existing systems with the exception of archived or back-up systems;
De-identifying the personal information; or
Aggregating the personal information.

Storing Personal Information – If personal information is stored, archived or listed in a backup system, we reserve the right to delay compliance with the consumer’s request to delete, with respect to data stored on the archived or backup system, until the archived or backup system is next accessed or used. We will inform the person(s) of this in the event is it applicable to their request.

Record Keeping – We must maintain a record of the individual requesting deletion pursuant to the Civil Code section 1798. 105(d)

Wonder is not required to comply with a consumer’s request to delete the consumer’s personal information if it is necessary for us or service provider to maintain the consumer’s personal information in order to:

Complete the transaction for which the personal information was collected, provide a good or service requested by the consumer, or reasonably anticipated within the context of a business’s ongoing business relationship with the consumer, or otherwise perform a contract between the business and the consumer.
Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity; or prosecute those responsible for that activity.
Debug to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality.
Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise his or her right of free speech, or exercise another right provided for by law.
