TO: ALL WONDER MEMBERS
MEMO: WGN WEEKLY MEMO: 2026/04/21
DATE: Wednesday, April 22, 2026
Class photos are done (it’s actually getting easier every year), and there is 1 more class until the Year of Wonder: Spring Concert and Art Display and 2 more wonder weeks until Family Day!
Firstly, thank you to Prelude Band and Orchestra for sharing music with us during assembly! It was wonderful to hear you play. It’s been amazing to witness your journey, some of you starting with no experience on your instruments to now becoming the musicians you are today! May you continue to use your talents for His glory
Facilities Conflict: We were just informed that CCPC is completing a major construction project that is behind schedule, and it has caused unexpected conflicts with sanctuary usage during the month of May. We are very surprised by this news, as all of our dates are submitted during the summer for the entire year. Nevertheless, we’re thankful to still have a space to use. Here is what we know at this time:
- April 28 (Updated): Next week’s dress rehearsal will be conducted in the GYM. This change will not affect any ensembles (except Flags and Quesos Unlimited — the memo has been updated and we have shared the details directly with those families).
- May 5 (In progress): We can still use the sanctuary for the main concert (May 5, 6PM), but the tech rehearsal and call-times will need to be modified. The art instillation will remain the same.
- May 12 (In progress): We are working through what this means for Family Day. The day is still open for registration, and we don’t expect changes to Theater Monologues, but the rest of the day may need to be moved around. We suggest all ensembles plan to attend from 9:30am to 2pm, as the Family Day concert time may need to be moved.
- Updates: An additional challenge…The Scotts will be out of town over the next few days, so they will do their best to make the updates once they return. Updates will be prioritized by order of event date, so the Family Day schedule will be completed last. We ask for your patience and that you wait for the modified schedules as we work through our options.
Please read this memo in its entirety, as it contains important information about the season, and remember to check the Action Items at the bottom of each memo!
HIGHLIGHTS
- Scripture of the Month: Psalms 136:1 – Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. – Psalms 136:1 New King James Version (NKJV)
- Spring Dress Rehearsal Reminder Highlights:
- Review Memos: Please take the time to review the upcoming rehearsal and event memos (see links below) to make sure you are aware of what to expect from each day. Please note, each event is a tab within the same spreadsheet linked below.
- Dress Rehearsal Required: The April 28 Dress Rehearsal is REQUIRED to participate in the Year of Wonder performances and Theater performance during Family Day. Outside of arrangements made during enrollment and unforeseen circumstances that are completely out of your control, there will be no exceptions.
- Students, please come to class dressed in your performance attire.
- Multiple Classes?: If you are in multiple classes with different attire, keep in mind we’ll begin the rehearsals with instruments (CONCERT BLACK) and the afternoon with dance and theater from 4pm to the evening theater dress rehearsal.
- For new families: Please remember that the May 5 concert does not include theater. The May 12 Family Day will include all performance groups during the day, along with an additional Living Theater Monologue presentations during the last block.
- 2026 Colorado Homeschool Days Fair Youth Marketplace: WHS students have been hard at work planning this year’s fair. Please support them by registering your child as a Youth Exhibitor and registering to attend the event linked below.
